About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and empathetic Employee Relations Specialist to support a positive workplace culture and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for addressing employee concerns, resolving workplace conflicts, and promoting employee engagement and satisfaction.

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, helping to maintain a productive and legally compliant work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances
  • Investigate employee complaints thoroughly and impartially, documenting findings and recommending resolutions
  • Advise managers and employees on company policies, procedures, and employment laws
  • Assist in developing and updating HR policies to align with legal requirements and best practices
  • Support disciplinary actions, terminations, and performance improvement plans while ensuring fairness and compliance
  • Promote positive employee relations through engagement initiatives and feedback programs
  • Maintain accurate records of employee relations issues, investigations, and outcomes
  • Provide training and guidance to leadership on effective communication and conflict resolution
  • Monitor workplace climate and trends to identify and address potential issues proactively
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational standards at all times

Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (required)
  • Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) is a plus

Experience:

  • 2–4 years of experience in employee relations, human resources, or labor relations
  • Proven experience handling workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and employee counseling

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.)
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, BambooHR, SAP SuccessFactors)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully
  • Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality with employees at all levels

Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess issues and determine fair solutions
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make policy or training recommendations

Organizational Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure

Soft Skills:

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
  • Empathy and emotional intelligence
  • Conflict resolution and mediation capabilities

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in union environments or labor relations
  • Exposure to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities
