About the Role:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Consultant to join our finance team or advisory firm. The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance on tax planning, compliance, and strategy for individuals, businesses, or organizations. As a Tax Consultant, you will analyze financial records, prepare accurate tax returns, ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, and offer actionable tax-saving recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Advise clients or internal departments on tax planning strategies and compliance issues.
- Research tax laws and regulations to ensure proper application and compliance.
- Assist clients in resolving tax-related issues with tax authorities.
- Stay current on changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on clients or the organization.
- Provide support during audits and assist with the preparation of necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with accounting and legal teams to provide integrated financial solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Educate clients or internal teams on tax regulations and best practices.

Requirements
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Taxation or Business Administration (preferred).
- Professional certification such as CPA, CA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or CMA (highly desirable).
Experience:
- 2–5 years of experience in tax preparation, advisory, or compliance.
- Experience with individual, corporate, and/or international taxation.
- Prior work in a public accounting firm or tax advisory role is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, TurboTax, Lacerte, Tally, or similar).
- Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and filing requirements.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Ability to research complex tax issues using authoritative sources.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply tax laws.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
- Proactive in identifying tax-saving opportunities and resolving tax issues.
Communication & Client Service:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients or internal stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building client relationships and handling sensitive information.
Organizational & Time Management:
- Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
- Well-organized with strong documentation and record-keeping habits.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with international tax regulations or transfer pricing.
- Knowledge of indirect taxes (e.g., VAT, GST) and payroll tax regulations.
- Familiarity with audit support and tax dispute resolution.
